Reading Intervention
We specialize in providing intensive intervention for struggling readers who have characteristics of dyslexia (whether diagnosed or not). We use research-based programs including:
-Orton-Gillingham-based (Wilson Reading & Barton Reading)
-Direct Instruction (Reading Mastery & Corrective Reading)
-Speech to Print (Spell-Links)
What makes us different:
We utilize programs and follow a set scope and sequence to ensure all skills are mastered. We know that many children with reading challenges have unexpected holes.
We utilize ongoing progress monitoring and biannual assessments to gauge student progress.
We are upfront about the commitment required from families (typically 2 sessions a week for 2-3 years). It’s a lot - but we are actually changing brain pathways to make more efficient readers!
We participate in frequent professional development to continue to stay on top of the latest research and best practices in the field.
We regularly collaborate with parents and school team members.
We are closing the gap for kids and graduating kids who can access grade-level materials and utilize technology tools as needed.
